Life size,hand carved figural sculpture by artist Frederic Rose. Titled "Yes, but at Least I Know it's There", carved from part of the trunk of a Ash ,depicting an man walking with an attached wagon carrying a large cocoon. The nails found in the figure are probably from signs.
Fred Rose attended Monterey Peninsula College to study studio art in 1986, and received his B.F.A. in ceramics at California State University, Long Beach in 1992. Frederic went on to receive his M.F.A. in sculpture at California State University, Fullerton. Frederic Rose is a full-time lecturer/chair of the wood program at California State University, in Long Beach.
"I tend to work mostly in wood. Wood is a product of a living organism and as a material it records the history of it's growth and the scars of it's life much as our own bodies do"
